Season 1, Episode 02 –
Delivering the first musical mission to the barn are former Royal Artillery staff sergeant Billy and charity director Nicky. They’re keen to recruit the musical instrument expertise of Pete Woods to bring a beloved bugle back to life. It once belonged to Nicky’s great-grandfather, but after meeting Billy at Blind Veterans UK, Nicky decided to gift him her precious instrument. The bugle has played a huge role in veteran Billy’s rehab and stimulates memories of his military career. As he goes about the fix, Pete needs to not only even out all the dents and dings so that the bugle shines aesthetically, but also make sure that it’s smooth enough to receive Billy’s tactile seal of approval. And when Billy and Nicky return to the barn, they’re both equally blown away by what Pete’s achieved.
