Season 26, Episode 08 –
Kate Humble and Ben Fogle celebrate 25 years together on Animal Park, looking back at some of the animals, keepers and unforgettable moments they have shared, while new stories continue to unfold across the park. Following the loss of one of their brothers, the park’s African wild dogs are struggling to find their place within the pack. With the social hierarchy unsettled, the keepers closely monitor their behaviour and introduce a special enrichment challenge, hoping it will help strengthen the bonds between the remaining dogs. As part of the anniversary celebrations, Ben and Kate revisit the remarkable life of Nico, the park’s much-loved silverback gorilla. From his extraordinary bond with keeper Mark Tye to the illness that threatened his life and the legacy he left behind, they reflect on one of Animal Park’s most unforgettable residents. Elsewhere, Megan discovers what the park’s new maned wolves make of some unusual treats, while an extraordinary scientific project could see the legacy of beloved lioness Malaika helping to shape future exploration on Mars.
