Season 3, Episode 07 – “Ellie Simmonds”
Prue has invited Ellie Simmonds back for a second visit to her kitchen after the two got on so well the first time – this occasion sees Paralympic gold medallist Ellie bake a coffee and walnut cake which the two enjoy with a cup of tea and a good catch-up. While Prue’s food hero is a tea producer from the Vale of Glamorgan who makes loose leave tea and Kombucha tea, she has a versatile dish on the menu – a baked feta, roasted tomatoes and garlic dish which can be used as a starter with bread dipped into it. Prue then adds spinach and cooked pasta, gives it a good mix and serves it as a main course as John heads off to see Hamish Mackie, a local bronze sculptor and good friend who lets John have a go at creating an ornamental elephant. Prue is pleased with herself when a hack for picking up egg yolks goes very well – she’s joined in the kitchen by John for chicken ramen and spicy edamame as the two take a trip down memory lane to a holiday in Japan when they tried many types of ramen.
