Blood Bond: Into the Shroud explores RPGs in a new way. With no hand-holding, few forced battles, and no strict paths to follow, you will be rewarded for your exploration across Jordenheim and the discoveries you make. Blood Bond: Into the Shroud is heavily inspired by Norse myths and legends. It is the birth of the world of Jordenheim. Our goal as developers was to provide you a great old-school RPG experience with modern graphics and done in a modern engine. Built-in Unreal.

You will play the role of Astrid, a young Viking witch, and daughter of two heroes of yore. Raised only by her mother and abandoned by her father, Astrid has been outcast by her village. Our story takes place after a hunt, Astrid has found her village destroyed and her mother missing. Unsure of her own capabilities, she seeks out her father, Birger. Thus, begins Blood Bond: Into the Shroud’s adventure of self-discovery. Discover the power of Viking inside and the truth behind it all.GAMEPLAYExploration & Discovery: Dive directly into exploring your environment. You’ll gain XP for everything you do from picking plants for medicine or discovering a mysterious setting.

Talents: Pray to the Gods to receive their blessing. What is bestowed upon you is completely up to them. Gain talents in a variety of ways from quests, boons from the gods, or discovering them through exploration.

Combat: Choose your battles wisely or use stealth to find another way. Be cautious with your ax, bow, and spells for there is no auto-targeting or easy mode combat.

Status Effects: Create buffs, debuffs, or states to aid in your journey. Don’t discredit a status effect as it may be beneficial in one situation and detrimental in another.

Crafting: Gather and craft clever items to ensure you succeed in your journey. Crafting is an essential part of your journey as you may not be able to obtain all talents, traits, and abilities on your journey.

Description: Discover Jordenheim. A Viking inspired world with lush environments, a flourishing ecology, and deep characters as you immerse yourself in a third person RPG adventure that challenges you with exploration, puzzles and strategic combat as you work your way through our engaging story.

Astrid our heroine, is a young village Witch, towing the line between old-school Viking magic and the encroachment of modernization on her culture and civilization. Old magic has fled the main parts of Sverige and the Nordic regions are under threat from foreign economic interests and belief structures alike. In her village of Guilon, on the outskirts of the Shrouded Realm, Astrid and her mother live a life of outcasts from the main Village.

An unforeseen and terrible turn of events causes her to need to reach out to her estranged Father, Birger the Bastard, an old-school Viking hero of yore - with whom she has no relationship at all. Thus begins our adventure of danger, exploration, and self-discovery as Astrid and Birger set out to unearth the source of these events, while at the same time finding common ground between themselves and forging a lasting father-daughter relationship.

Join us in Jordenheim to enjoy a single player adventure that mixes puzzle, exploration and RPG genres to give you a gaming experience that will both delight and enrich you with surprises, an emotional story-line, and tactical game-play to keep you amused for a good many hours.

Blood Bond is being released in an episodic chapter style, where you experience chapters of content over time until the story is completed. Each chapter updates the main game and is not a DLC and will not cost extra. Every chapter is free after the first purchase.

We have a number of good reasons why we are doing it that way, and we created an FAQ in our Steam Community page to explain it all to you. Please do feedback to us on this release style.
