Unfortunately, its main features are a long strip of concrete leading to nowhere and a six-inch-high barbecue! Charlie and Lee go head-to-head to win the couple over. Getting the concrete strip out is the first challenge for the team, but once that’s done, the winning plan comes to life. The team add a pergola that incorporates a swing, a barbecue area for Araam and beds with produce and flowers so that Adyan can fall in love with gardening.

While Chris manages that and the giant bespoke bench going underneath, Flo is on rabbit duty, creating a play area for the other garden owners.

Season 9, Episode 32 – "Rocester"
Julie and Phillip are like ships that pass in the night. Julie works on shifts in an emergency unit, so the couple would like a garden to spend more time in when they are together. They are surrounded by brick walls and would like a wildlife-focused space with £3,000 to spend. The first challenge is to make the budget go as far as possible, and so the team source patio slabs that are identical to what the couple have to give them a bigger social space. A timber, curved path is another clever budget-friendly feature. But with wildlife the key to the garden, Lee’s rabbit out of the hat is a set of amazing bat boxes. Flo builds three custom boxes for the lower part of the garden, while Lee puts up a four-metre high freestanding 'bat post'.

Season 9, Episode 29 – "Lutterworth"
Lesley longs for a garden to spend time with her two children and four grandchildren, but her bizarrely shaped plot has her flummoxed. Not only is it compact, it goes to a strange point in one corner and has a giant shed taking up one third of the space! Lee and Chris take up the challenge and offer designs reminiscent of Lesley’s favourite Greek holidays. It's not long before the team begin to struggle with the odd angles in the garden. They cleverly solve the pointed corner by building a wide bed in front of it, masked with planting. They then solve the problem with the shed by turning it into a Greek taverna. But Lesley was hoping for some contemporary touches in the garden, so a stunning freestanding water feature and stylish pergola are added into the mix. With the addition of a honey locust and olive tree to the garden, it's not long before Lesley is stunned to see her pointy plot transformed into a Mediterranean marvel.

It may be pouring, but the slick paving and elegant pergola definitely have a holiday feel. The focus is a central water feature, with the disco put into the garden with mirrorball-inspired tiling. Pretty pastel-coloured perennials bring the whole garden to life. Hannah and Chris are so inspired, it's not long before the sax is broken out for an impromptu jam session in their new garden.
