Season 2, Episode 05 – “West Cork”
in this episode, we join Fred and his Olympic medal-winning daughter Andrea as they take on a series of cycles along the sometimes challenging but often spectacular roads of West Cork. The pair cycle to Clonakilty and visit the original butcher’s shop where the famous black pudding was born, and there’s more history when they visit the village of Baltimore – this time it’s Barbary pirates. Fred and Andrea then tackle the Inchydoney Island Cycle Challenge together before swapping pedals for waves at the local surf school for a shared love of the water – as well as foraging for coastal plants, there’s also a very different kind of seaside walk as Fred and Andrea share it with some alpacas.

Season 2, Episode 04 – “Cork City”
in this episode, we join Fred as he takes on the streets and roads of Cork City by bike. After Fred tests his stamina with a cycle challenge up St Patrick’s Hill, one of the city’s most iconic climbs, he gets a breather when he samples Cork’s famous stout at Murphy’s Brewery – this is before more physical challenges when Fred trains with Na Piarsaigh, a ladies’ GAA team, and learns the skills behind Ireland’s national sport. At the Butter Museum in the city, Fred discovers Cork’s past as the world’s butter capital and even tries his hand at churning butter – he finishes the day with ceili dancing by joining a traditional Irish set. However, Fred can’t leave Cork without a cycle to Blarney Castle – and all in order to kiss the legendary stone and uncover the myths and stories behind its ‘gift of the gab

Season 2, Episode 03 – “Waterford And Cork”
in this episode, we join Fred as he takes on a series of cycling challenges on the sometimes challenging and often spectacular roads of Waterford and Cork with a range of experiences along the way. Fred cycles the path of a disused railway to the town of Dungarvan – the Waterford Greenway – before joining a traditional singing session in the heart of an Irish-speaking community. While continuing his cycle, Fred comes across the Queen of the Road, a place where the creme de la creme of the local sport of road bowling clash on a twisting Cork road – he then explores a renowned whiskey distillery in Midleton before his taste for history is rewarded with a cycle to Spike Island, a Napoleonic-era fortification that later became the largest prison in the British Empire.

Season 2, Episode 02 – “Waterford”
Fred Sirieix, TV’s favourite Frenchman, loves new experiences of travel, history, culture, food, hospitality and, of course, meeting people. One of his other loves is cycling – now he’s back in Ireland to pursue a fresh adventure on his bike, and we join Fred as he takes on a series of cycling challenges on the sometimes gruelling but often spectacular roads of Waterford. Fred takes on the Comeragh Mountains as far as the breathtaking Mahon Falls before reconnecting with nature in Crough Woods, where he tries forest yoga and a waterfall swim – he then gets the chance to pick vegetables in Mount Congreve’s walled garden before helping head chef JB Dubois create a meal. Fred’s cycle then takes him into Waterford City to stop at the famous Waterford Crystal, immerse himself in the craft and try glass blowing – finally, he parks up his bike when he finds a corner of Japan in Ireland – the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens – for a traditional tea ceremony before getting back on the road.

The journey begins aboard Irish Ferries where Fred meets cycling enthusiast Cillian, who offers him some tips for his adventure ahead – Fred’s first cycle challenge is to climb to the highest point of Slieve Coillte for views across six counties. Later, Fred steps aboard the Dunbrody Famine Ship, immersing himself in the powerful story of Irish emigrants who sailed to America in the 19th century – the cycle continues to Hook Lighthouse, the oldest working lighthouse in the world, before a hungry Fred pays a visit to an oyster farm once the epicentre of a prosperous industry and a major supplier of Gillardeau oysters.
