Season 1, Episode 08 – “Hinatako, it’s all over! A third assassin appears during the undercover investigation”
Hinatako (Aoi Okuyama) infiltrates a matchmaking party to contact “Nico-chan,” a friend of Tanioka Makiko (Yumi Fujita), the third victim in a string of suspicious deaths. Having just received a call from her colleague Kuwabara (Sumimasa Motojima), Hinatako ventures over the phone, then heads to the venue. However, with no way to find “Nico-chan,” whose real name and face she doesn’t know, all Hinatako can do is wait for contact. As Hinatako leaves the main venue and sits on a bench in the corner of the garden, she is approached by party attendee Kirigaya Kyoko (Haruka Sasaki). Kirigaya, who had been listening to Hinatako’s phone call, approaches her after learning that she is actually a reporter for Weekly Sengoku. She holds a grudge against Weekly Sengoku for publishing a scoop about her favorite idol in the past, and starts making a fuss when Hinatako’s true identity is revealed. Despite all her hardships, Hinatako finds a note in her bag. Finally, “Nico-chan” contacts her…! Hinatako heads to the designated location, but gets caught up in an unexpected situation…!
